Upstate Massachusetts

massmoca.jpg

We went to Mass Moca in the Berkshires over the weekend for some good times.

The space and art at Mass Moca were decent, but the Dia Beacon is still my favorite. I guess I still prefer New York state over Massachusetts. Anyway, it was a rainy afternoon and most of us were barely awake. But it was still nice to get out of the city for some fresh air.

AND… I had this awesome ginger beverage. Believe me, this was worth the trip.

Bloody Monday

I woke up this-post-4-day-weekend-morning to a phone call from the receptionist at my periodontist’s office, calling to re-schedule an appointment I had made for an osseous surgery. I had a surprise wisdom tooth extraction at 12pm today and my body is still in shock.

Happy Monday.

My First Watermelon

melon.jpg

This is the first whole watermelon I have ever purchased. I paid $3.49 at Fairway for this 4-pound cutie. She is about 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide.

I think I probably had watermelon twice since I moved to New York. Maybe some other times when I get the Fried Pork Belly with Watermelon at Fatty Crab. Watermelon is the most unpractical fruit to purchase in New York City. It is heavy to carry back to the apartment. It is expensive here. There is no space in the fridge for this big thing. There is no counter space to cut it. I don’t even have plates that are big enough to serve the big slices I like to have.

I like to think of my little watermelon as a couture piece of fruit.

I am a little late at bloggin’ about this one… but who goes to Midtown east anyway?

I love Hello Kitty & friends and you can see them in front of the Lever House on Park Avenue, between 53rd and 54th.
